About VisoraForge

VisoraForge connects video-first scholarly publishing with practical visual communication for research.

Research that can be seen and understood

VisoraForge is a research communication platform built around a simple idea: some scientific work becomes easier to understand when readers can see how it is done. We bring video publishing, written scholarship and visual communication together so that methods, decisions and evidence can be explained in a connected format.

Our central publishing focus is the Journal of Video Research and Scientific Methods. It is designed for researchers who want to document experimental procedures, field techniques, clinical or technical demonstrations, research workflows and visual evidence alongside a carefully prepared written article.

Three connected areas

  • VisoraForge Open supports video research articles, methods, protocols and related scholarly material through an editorial workflow.
  • VisoraForge Studio supports research teams with figures, graphical abstracts, posters, animations and video abstracts.
  • VisoraForge AI explores practical tools for planning and preparing visual research materials, with researchers responsible for reviewing and approving every output.

Why video belongs in research publishing

A written description remains essential, but it may not show timing, movement, equipment setup, spatial relationships or the small decisions that affect a procedure. A well-planned video can make those elements visible. The article supplies the context: the research question, rationale, materials, steps, analysis, limitations, ethics statements and references. Captions and transcripts help readers access the information in different ways.

Video is not a substitute for evidence, peer assessment or a clear written record. It is another scholarly format that can make a method easier to inspect, discuss and repeat.

Our approach

We aim to make research communication clear, responsible and useful. Authors retain responsibility for the accuracy of their work and for obtaining permissions. Editors assess submissions according to the journal’s scope and stated policies. Published records should distinguish observed results from interpretation, identify limitations and provide enough detail for readers to evaluate the work.

Who we serve

VisoraForge is intended for researchers, clinicians, laboratory teams, field scientists, educators, institutions and scholarly communities that need to communicate methods and findings visually. Submissions and projects are considered on their relevance and quality; using video does not by itself guarantee editorial acceptance.

Building the journal

The journal is being developed as an open, video-centered publishing program. Its public pages describe the intended scope, submission process and editorial standards. Before launch, operational details such as editorial appointments, fees, licensing terms and review timelines must be confirmed and kept current on the relevant policy pages.
